MTP® 16 Fiber Connector – iFiber Optix
MTP-16 fiber optic connector
Multi-Fiber Push-On Connector

MTP® 16
Sixteen fibers,
one connection.

The US Conec MTP-16 delivers 33% more fiber density than MTP-12 in the same footprint — built for the hyperscale data center deployments that demand every millimeter of rack space.

MTP-16 Singlemode connector

Maximum density,
engineered from the core.

The MTP-16 is a 16-fiber multi-fiber push-on connector built around the MT ferrule standard. Its precision-molded ferrule, guide pins, and push-pull housing work together to deliver repeatable sub-0.35 dB insertion loss across hundreds of mating cycles — in both singlemode OS2 and multimode OM3/OM4/OM5 configurations.

high-density infrastructure.

01
High-Density 16-Fiber Architecture
Packs 16 fibers into the same MTP footprint as a 12-fiber connector — delivering 33% more capacity per connection point without changing your cassette or panel infrastructure.
02
MT Ferrule Precision Alignment
The precision-ground MT ferrule with stainless steel guide pins maintains fiber-to-fiber alignment within microns, ensuring consistent optical performance on every mating cycle.
03
Ultra-Low Insertion Loss
≤0.35 dB typical insertion loss across all 16 fibers — engineered for systems where cumulative signal loss across hundreds of connections cannot be compromised.
04
Push-Pull Latching Housing
The patented push-pull housing allows one-handed blind-mate insertions and extractions even in fully loaded panels — critical in high-density rack environments where access is constrained.
05
Singlemode & Multimode Support
Available in OS2 singlemode (UPC polish) and OM3/OM4/OM5 multimode — both versions share the same housing geometry, simplifying inventory and system design.
06
US Conec Certified Platform
Manufactured under US Conec's rigorous quality program — each connector is tested and documented against published performance specifications for complete traceability.

Where the MTP-16 performs.

🏢
Hyperscale Data Centers
Top-of-rack switch interconnects and main distribution frames where 400G/800G parallel optics demand 16-fiber parallel channels.
📡
Telecommunications
Central office and colocation facilities requiring compact high-fiber-count connectors across 100G to 400G backbone deployments.
🔲
High-Density Panels
Pre-terminated MTP-16 trunk cables and modular cassette systems that maximize fiber per 1U panel beyond what MTP-12 can deliver.
🏛️
Enterprise Campus
Building backbone and IDF-to-MDF infrastructure where a future upgrade path from 40G to 100G parallel optics is required.
☁️
Cloud Infrastructure
Spine-leaf fabric interconnects in large-scale cloud deployments where low latency and minimal connector loss budgets are critical.
🏛
Government / GSA
Federal and defense facilities requiring US Conec certified, fully documented connectors with traceable performance test data.

Built to your specification.

Every MTP-16 assembly from iFiber Optix is configured to your exact requirements — fiber type, polarity, boot color, and connector finish — before it ships.

Fiber Type
SM & MM Options
OS2 singlemode for long-distance single-channel applications; OM3, OM4, or OM5 multimode for short-reach parallel optic systems.
Polarity
Type A, B, or C
Specified per TIA-568-C.0 standards — Type A (straight-through), Type B (reversed), or Type C (pair-wise reversed) to match your system design.
Finish
UPC or APC Polish
Flat UPC polish for standard multimode and singlemode applications; angled APC available on select singlemode builds for enhanced return loss performance.

How to configure your MTP-16.

01
Choose Fiber Type
Select OS2 singlemode or multimode (OM3 / OM4 / OM5) based on your transceiver requirements and link distance.
02
Specify Polarity
Determine polarity type (A, B, or C) from your network design. When in doubt, Type A is the most common starting point.
03
Select Length & Boot
Provide the cable length in meters or feet and specify boot color for easy identification in your cable management scheme.
04
Request a Quote
Contact iFiber Optix with your configuration. We'll confirm specs, lead time, and pricing — typically within one business day.
