US Conec Eliment™ MDC Connector

The US Conec MDC Eliment™ Connector is designed for environments that require high-density, high-performance fiber connections — delivering compact size, excellent optical performance, and easy push-pull accessibility in a footprint significantly smaller than standard LC connectors.

iFiber Optix manufactures MDC Eliment™ assemblies to support the growing demand for ultra-high-density connectivity, offering fully configurable options in both singlemode and multimode fiber to match any deployment requirement from 10G to 400G.

What is a US Conec MDC Eliment™ Connector?

The MDC Eliment™ is a miniature duplex fiber connector that provides performance comparable to an LC connector in a significantly smaller footprint — allowing more fiber connections in the same panel or switch port space. With a 1.25mm zirconia ceramic ferrule and push-pull latch system, it delivers LC-class optical performance at half the physical size.

A push-pull latch system allows easy insertion or removal even in tight or congested areas, making it well suited to hyperscale data centers, enterprise networks, and high-capacity switching systems running 10G through 400G.

Key Features

  • Ultra-High Density The miniature duplex form factor supports significantly increased port density compared to standard LC connectors — ideal for switches, patch panels, blade servers, and storage systems where every millimeter of panel space matters.
  • Push-Pull Latch Access Integrated pull tab allows easy insertion or removal without disturbing adjacent connectors — especially helpful in dense panels and congested racks where standard connector bodies block access to neighboring ports.
  • Low Insertion Loss Precision 1.25mm zirconia ceramic ferrule delivers ≤ 0.15 dB typical insertion loss and <-65 dB typical back reflection — supporting long-distance and high-speed transmission with minimal signal degradation.
  • Durable Construction Rated for ≥ 500 mating cycles per IEC 61754 with an operating range of -40°C to +85°C — built for mission-critical environments where reliability across frequent patching and demanding conditions is non-negotiable.
  • Singlemode & Multimode Available in OS2 singlemode and OM3/OM4/OM5 multimode configurations — one connector platform covering the full range of modern data center and enterprise fiber types from 10G to 400G.
  • Broad Network Compatibility Compatible with 10G, 25G, 40G, 100G, and 400G network speeds — future-proof for next-generation switching and transceiver upgrades without changing the physical connectivity infrastructure.

Ideal Applications

The MDC Eliment™ is deployed wherever ultra-high port density, push-pull accessibility, and LC-class optical performance must coexist in the same compact infrastructure.

Data Center

High-Density Data Centers

Switch and server connections where the MDC's miniature form factor doubles usable port density versus LC — supporting 400G spine-leaf architectures without expanding panel footprint.

Telecom

Telecom Central Offices

Central office and backbone terminations requiring reliable high-density connectivity — where the push-pull latch enables fast, clean patching in congested distribution frames.

High-Density

High-Density Patch Panels

Dense patching fields where miniature duplex connectors increase port count per rack unit — maximizing fiber density in structured cabling without adding rack space.

Cloud

Cloud & Hyperscale Networks

Hyperscale data center environments where every connector, port, and rack unit is optimized — MDC delivers LC performance at half the size for maximum switching capacity per square foot.

Enterprise

Enterprise Campus Networks

Structured cabling across buildings and campuses where limited rack space and growing bandwidth demands make MDC's compact, high-performance form factor the ideal upgrade from LC.

Government / GSA

Government & Regulated Facilities

Ultra-high-density fiber infrastructure for government data centers and secure facilities — available through iFiber Optix's active GSA contract for direct federal procurement.

Customization Options & Resources

iFiber Optix offers fully configurable MDC Eliment™ assemblies tailored to your network specifications — contact us with your requirements for a custom configuration quote.

  • Custom Fiber Lengths Available in a full range of lengths to match your exact rack, room, or campus routing requirements — from short 1m patch runs to custom-length trunk assemblies.
  • Singlemode or Multimode OS2 singlemode for long-reach and high-bandwidth backbone links. OM3/OM4/OM5 multimode for shorter-reach data center and enterprise connections with 10G–400G transceivers.
  • Jacket Types PVC (OFNR), plenum (OFNP), or LSZH jacket options to meet fire codes, building regulations, and environmental requirements for any installation space.
  • Polarity Configurations Assemblies configured to match your polarity requirements and system architecture — confirm transceiver type and patch strategy before ordering to ensure correct polarity on first installation.

How to Configure Your MDC Eliment™ Assembly

Four decisions define your MDC Eliment™ assembly — work through them in order to arrive at the right configuration for your deployment.

01

Select Fiber Type

OS2 singlemode for long-distance backbone links and DWDM applications. OM3/OM4 multimode for shorter-reach data center and campus connections. OM5 for wideband multimode (SWDM) transceivers supporting next-generation 40G and 100G short-reach applications.

02

Specify Length & Jacket

Measure routing paths carefully before ordering — MDC assemblies are not easily extended in the field. Select PVC for standard equipment rooms, plenum (OFNP) for air-handling spaces, or LSZH for facilities with halogen restrictions or European compliance requirements.

03

Confirm Polarity

Verify polarity requirements against your transceiver specifications and patch strategy before ordering. Incorrect polarity is the most common cause of dark fiber after installation — confirm the polarity method required by your switch and transceiver vendor before specifying.

04

MDC vs. LC — When to Choose MDC

MDC Eliment™ is the right choice when you need LC-class optical performance at higher port density — new high-density panel builds, blade server connections, and hyperscale spine-leaf deployments. LC remains correct when matching existing LC infrastructure or when equipment specifies LC interfaces specifically.

Why Choose iFiber Optix?

  • Controlled Assembly Processes All MDC Eliment™ assemblies are built using controlled handling and assembly processes — ensuring connector integrity, proper ferrule alignment, and long-term optical stability that generic assemblers cannot consistently match.
  • GSA Contract Holder iFiber Optix holds an active GSA contract, making MDC Eliment™ assemblies directly available to federal, state, and local government agencies without separate procurement processing.
  • Fully Custom Configurations Fiber type, length, jacket rating, polarity, and quantity — all configurable to your exact project requirements. Contact us with your architecture drawings or BOM for a custom specification quote.
  • TAA & BABA Compliant Options Trade Agreement Act and Buy American Act compliant configurations available for government and regulated procurement — contact us to confirm compliance requirements for your specific project.
